GPS Parallelfahrhilfe
A simple parallel driving aid for the small farm, with AB-line, simple contour line and recording the already worn surface.
Introduction
The accuracy depends mainly from the GPS receiver, please do not use the internal receiver of their Smartphons (only a pinch for testing if no other receiver is at hand). For a good GPS reception, I strongly recommend an external GPS receiver, eg a Bluetooth receiver via the app 'Bluetooth GPS' (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=googoo.android.btgps) is connected to the smartphone. I use at the moment a somewhat older GPS Mouse, the 'Holux GPS Slim 236', here can even connect an external antenna, which significantly improves the reception again. The (Un)accuracy lies with this configuration at 50cm-200cm, this is for tillage and sprinkle fertilizer sufficient and more, it is not intended (this App can not be compared with a € 2000-20000 system). Currently you can only create an A-B line, but with the help of the surface recording, it is also possible to follow a contour line.
GPS-Settings
Who wants to use the internal GPS of the Smartphons, nothing needs to be observed further, just turn GPS on.
Who wants to use the app's internal BT function for coupling a GPS receiver, only need to press the corresponding button and choose his receivers.
If you want to connect an external receiver via Bluetooth app must make the following settings:
- Activate Bluetooth and connect the GPS receiver (pairing)
- in Location - Disable 'GPS'
- in Developer options - Enable 'Allow mock locations'
The Bluetooth app should be configured:
- Select GPS receivers
- activate 'Enable Mock...'
- activate 'Reconnect' and 'Reconnect interval' to '10sec'
Quick Start Guide (only the most important):
- Touch the screen up or down to zoom
- The menu button (on Smartphone/Tablet) opens/close the settings
- Enter the distance between the parallel lines in the text box
- Mess with the A/B button a line
- With the Rec button, the machined surface can be recorded (from about 1 km/h)
- With the pause button, the recording can be paused
- A long press on the Rec/Pau-button deletes the recorded surface
Settings (especially raster hight):
The grid hight is used to calibrate a relationship between grid and screen size and can only be set correctly, as long as no useful GPS signal is received and when the crosshair is in the center of the grid. If so, then zoom in or out to the grid as long as you 200m in the vertical (ie 10 stitches to 20m) has been reached, now call up the settings and enter 200 in grid hight, thus the grid is calibrated.
In short: screen zoom to 200m width, then enter 200 in grid hight. ...or at 400m, then enter 400.
Other settings:
- Grid size, etc. Change map size only when needed, an incorrect entry can cause the program to crash
- The colors can be customized, as well as the line width
Bugs/problems/enhancements:
- The distance of the recording surface is limited (about 40km, possibly will be revised)
- Incorrect entries in the settings (grid) can cause the program to crash
- should there be problems with the BT connection to the GPS receiver to come (can not connect, BT goes off and can not be activated again, BT hangs on), the problem is not in the app, but the android system, these problems are frequently encountered and include devices from almost any manufacturer. The only solution is restart the device (see google).
- sorry for google-english ;o)
Demoversion:
This is a fully functional demo version, it can be for an amount of 49 € unlocked (payable by bank transfer or paypal) for each unit, the file 'GPS Parallelfahrhilfe.ini' to find in the '.../Android/data/spunky.opengl.gps.paralleldriver/files/', send it to me via email. I then grab one unlock code and send it back to the file, it must be returned in the same folder and copied the old file will be overwritten back.
